About these terms
These terms cover the editing work Roughcut does for you and your use of this website. By sending a brief or paying an invoice you agree to them. They are written to be read, so please do.
What we do
We edit the footage you send: cutting, captions, sound, colour, motion graphics and thumbnails, as listed in your plan or quote. We do not film, and we do not post to your channels unless that is written into your plan.
What you send
- Footage, audio, logos and music you own or have the right to use. You are responsible for those rights.
- A brief that says what the video is for, where it will be posted and anything that must stay in or come out.
- Feedback within the review window, so the delivery date holds.
Turnaround and changes
- The turnaround on your plan starts when we have all the footage and the brief.
- Each video includes the number of review rounds listed on your plan. Extra rounds, or a change of direction after the first cut, are quoted before we start them.
- If we are going to miss a date we tell you before it passes, not after.
Price and payment
Monthly plans are billed at the start of each month; single projects are billed half up front and half on delivery. Unused videos in a month do not roll over unless your plan says so. Prices on this site can change; the price on your invoice is the one that applies.
If a cut is not what you asked for, tell us. We would rather redo a video the same week than have you post something you do not like.
Who owns what
Once an invoice is paid, the finished videos are yours to use anywhere. Your raw footage is always yours. Our project files, templates and presets stay ours unless your plan includes them.
Showing the work
We may show a finished, published video as a sample only with your written permission. Unreleased work is never shown.
Pausing and ending
You can pause or cancel a monthly plan before the next billing date. We may stop work when invoices are overdue or when content is unlawful, and we will tell you why.
Using this site
The words and designs on this site belong to Roughcut or are used with permission. The projects and numbers shown are examples of the kind of work we do.
Liability
We work with care but cannot promise a video will reach a given number of views. Nothing in these terms limits rights the law gives you.
