The short version

Roughcut uses a small number of cookies to make this site work and to understand, in total, which pages people read. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not follow you around the web.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Some last only while the page is open, others stay for a set time so the site can remember a choice.

Cookies we need

• A cookie that remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.
• A cookie the site host sets to deliver pages quickly and keep the site secure.

These are always on, because the site does not work without them.

Your brief, kept in the browser

While you browse, the plan and the number of videos you pick are kept in your browser's session storage so the project brief can show them. This is not a cookie, it is never sent to us until you send the brief, and it disappears when you close the tab.

Analytics

With your consent we count visits and page views with a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It does not build a profile of you, and IP addresses are shortened before they are stored.

No advertising cookies, no social media trackers, no selling of visitor data.

Embedded video

A page may show a video hosted on another service. That service may set its own cookies once you press play. We load these only after you choose to.

How to change your choice

• Use the cookie banner the first time you visit, or reopen it from the footer.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but your cookie choice will not be remembered.

How long cookies last

Session cookies end when you close the browser. The cookie that stores your choice lasts six months. Analytics cookies last no longer than twelve months.

Changes

If we add a new kind of cookie we will update this page and ask for your choice again.
